The Write It Out series is a monthly creative writing challenge which serves as an opportunity for bloggers to explore their creative writing in a supportive environment. Each month I will share a prompt along with my writing inspired by it, then invite you to participate. For this month, describe what you are thinking or feeling right now.
These nerves are like a wild sea
with their endings full of electricity.
They are a part of everything they feel
(whether made-believe or real)
and sometimes dissatisfied entirely.
They have never understood insensitivity
and anything brash causes rashes or
depressions into the skin
rejected deep within and then
brought back to the surface to heal.
With this prompt, I ended up writing a short little poem about the hypersensitivity and psoriasis I still struggle with due to Celiac Disease. I am very curious to read what you come up with and remember, you don’t have to write a poem. You can write anything you want: a short story, a long poem, free prose, etc. If you do write something, make sure you link up. See the details below:
- write from this month’s prompt and post on your blog
- submit your post below where it says “click here to enter”
- encourage your readers to take part, too!
