The Write It Out series serves as an opportunity for us all to explore our creative writing in a supportive and collaborative environment. Each month I will share a prompt along with my writing inspired by it, then invite you to participate. For this month, tell me about an everyday inspiration.
Door, door, gate.
I emerge from my little in-law unit,
A cave within another home.
An alcove, my womb.
I am birthed every morning,
Out from the pink into the daylight,
Or the San Francisco fog…
I see Sutro tower, and love it.
It reminds me I live here,
I grow myself here,
I change here.
I felt inspired to write about my current happiness, living in my favorite city. I love leaving my home (my home, my very own home!) in the morning to walk down to school where I pour out and fill up my heart with the passion of my life. I have not been happy like this in years. Most every morning, on my way to school, I look up at the radio tower and really feel like myself… And I know this is just a taste of the years to come.
I am very curious to read about your everyday inspiration and remember: you don’t have to write a poem. You can write anything you want: a short story, a long poem, free prose, etc. If you do write something, make sure you link up. See the details below:
- write from this month’s prompt and post on your blog
- submit your post below where it says “click here to enter”
- encourage your readers to take part, too!
